Welcome to ISSEP 2025

The International Conference on Informatics in Schools: Situation, Evolution, and Perspectives (ISSEP) serves as a platform for researchers and practitioners focused on Informatics education across all school levels. The conference offers the opportunity for educators and researchers to discuss the goals and objectives of Informatics as a subject, explore its curriculum, various teaching and learning approaches, and examine its real-world connections. Through ISSEP, participants will delve into ways to advance Informatics education in schools, shaping the future of this essential field.

History

The ISSEP conference started in 2005 in Klagenfurt, Austria. It was followed by meetings in Vilnius (2006), Torun (2008), Zürich (2010), Bratislava (2011), Oldenburg (2013), Istanbul (2014), Ljubljana (2015), Münster (2016), Helsinki (2017), Saint-Petersburg (2018), Larnaca (2019), Tallin (2020), Nijmegen (2021), Vienna (2022), Lausanne (2023), and Budapest (2024).

The 18th ISSEP conference is an organized in joint work by Jacqueline Staub (University of Trier, Germany) and Adish Singla (Max Planck Institute for Software Systems, Germany) and will take place at the University of Trier from 8-11 September 2025.
